RTN Marie Curie Action: Molecular Basis of Antibiotics Translocation

    General Announcement

    Local opportunities:

We are searching for a 1 year Post-doc within the framework of the EU-marie Curie Research Training Network 'MRTN-CT-019335 Translocation'. The position is available immediately and requires an expertise in molecular simulations applied to biological systems. The work will focus principally on MD simulations at classical level, Free energy calculations and Kinetic Monte Carlo, and eventually QM/MM calculations. Skills on unix system, parallel computing and scientific languages are a prerequisite. Due to the nature of the project, it is expected a strong interaction with the other groups of the network, so research periods in the other laboratories of the network are strongly raccomended and required.

We are searching for a PhD student within the framework of the EU-marie Curie Research Training Network 'MRTN-CT-019335 Translocation'. The position will start at the end of 2006, according to the PhD school starting date, and will last a maximum of 3 year. This period is required to obtain the PhD in Physics from the University of Cagliari. The PhD school is organized as follow: -3 year of research with a written dissertation and final discussion; -1 year of lectures (tipically the first year); -seminars, tutoring and conferences, needed to accumulate additional credits. The work will focus principally on problems connected to the interactions between antibiotics and proteins. Tools for these studies will be MD simulations at classical level, free energy calculations and Kinetic Monte Carlo, as weel as QM/MM calculations. Skills on unix system, parallel computing and scientific languages are welcome.
